An electronic device and an item display method using the same are provided to display various kinds of items such as a menu or a file by using a floating object such as a fluid layer or a bubble responding to various kinds of event occurring in the electronic device. A memory(140) stores an item list including at least one item. A display unit(120) is fluid and displays at least one object respectively corresponding to each item. A controller(150) changes floating the item corresponding to the predetermined item when an event related to the predetermined item is generated. The object is displayed in a fluid layer or waterdrop shape, and the item is a menu or a file. The event receives a signal for selecting or executing the item through an input unit embedded in an electronic device. A tilt sensor detects tilt of a main unit of the electronic device. The controller displays the object by changing the tilt of the object according to the tilt of the main unit. A power supply unit(125) supplies electric power necessary for the operation of an electronic device, and a tilt sensor(130) senses the tilt variation of the body of the electronic device.
