<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an efficient system shift from a currently operated information providing server to an alternative server. <P>SOLUTION: In a network system including a plurality of relay units, first and second servers, and an appliance apparatus for transmission to an information providing IP address, a routing table of the first relay unit stores in advance first route information to be transferred to the second relay unit, which is in association with the information providing IP address, second route information to be transferred to the third relay unit, which is in association with the information providing IP address, and priority information indicating a higher priority of the first route information to the second route information.
