PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception system excelling in remote operability, and composed by externally connecting a second receiver capable of receiving a broadcast signal of a second broadcast system to a first receiver capable of receiving a broadcast signal of a first broadcast system. SOLUTION: This reception system includes: an analog TV 1 (first receiver); an STB (second receiver) externally connected to the analog TV 1; and a remote control transmitter 5 for the STB. The STB is provided with: an STB light reception part 3; a control part 2H controlling the operation of the STB in accordance with an infrared signal received by the STB light reception part 3 and transmitted from the remote control transmitter 5 for the STB, and selecting a remote control code for the analog TV 1 in accordance with the infrared signal received by the STB light reception part 3 and transmitted from the remote control transmitter 5 for the STB; and an STB light emission part 4 transmitting, to the analog TV 1, an infrared signal corresponding to the remote control code for the analog TV 1 selected by the control part 2H.
