A transmitting unit (20) on a rail-track route (18) transfers an identification mark (ID) for an imminent danger spot to an approaching rail vehicle. Using the transferred identification mark loads a reference image from the list and compares it with an actual image of the danger spot captured by an image-capture device (16) on the rail vehicle and/or at the danger spot. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# For checking on congestion at a danger point on a rail-track route. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# Transmitted from a rail vehicle, a request signal (24) triggers the transfer of an identification mark from the transmitting unit onto the rail vehicle.
