<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device capable of easily activating a desired function and accessing desired stored data without performing a troublesome operation. <P>SOLUTION: The portable terminal is provided which has a dictionary part holding a converted character string corresponding to an unconverted character string or a conversion candidate including a file, and extracts and outputs a conversion candidate corresponding to an unconverted character string inputted by a user.
