<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightning surge protector which is low-cost, has high effect of suppressing lightning surge and is easily applicable to an existing electric power station. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lightning surge protector protects a board 17 connected to a control cable 14 against lightning surge entering thereinto via a floating capacitance C0 between an apparatus equipped on the electric power station and the control cable 14 when lightning strikes to the electric power station. The lightning surge protector includes a common mode choke Lc connected in series to the control cable 14 on the board 17 side; a first capacitor C1 connected in parallel to an apparatus 13 side of the common mode choke coil Lc; and a second capacitor Cc connected in parallel to the board 17 side of the common mode choke Lc.
