A substrate comprising a solid support, a ligand having the formula (see above formula), wherein A represents an aromatic or heteroaromatic group, which may be monocyclic or bicyclic, having 5-12 atoms in the ring system, and comprising 0-3 heteroatoms selected from O, N, and S; and a linker comprising at least one C, O, N, or S atom covalently connecting the solid support to the ligand, and a method of treating a sample comprising at least one biological substance, the method comprising contacting the substrate with the sample for a period of time sufficient to allow at least one biological substance in the sample to bind to the substrate is provided. Advantageously, biological substances, such as immunoglobulins (preferably monoclonal antibodies), are preferably bound, while not binding aggregates. |
