PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact light source device that includes a light source having a semiconductor laser for emitting light of a high light density and a rotary wheel having a phosphor layer, can effectively suppress the reduction in luminous efficiency of the phosphor layer, and can be manufactured at a low cost, and to provide a projector using the light source device.SOLUTION: A light source device 2 includes: a light source 10 having a semiconductor laser 12; and a phosphor wheel 30 that has a scatterer layer 32 and phosphor layer 34 in at least a partial region of the incidence region into which light comes from the light source 10, and transmits the light coming from the light source 10. The scatterer layer 32 is disposed closer to the light incidence side than phosphor layer 34 is. A projector including the light source device 2 is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
