PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass substrate, stably cooling a grindstone and elongating the life thereof.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a glass substrate, including an edge face processing step of processing the edge face of the glass substrate by a grindstone while supplying a cooling liquid to a contact part between the grindstone and the glass edge face includes in the edge face processing step, a cooling step of supplying the cooling liquid as an aqueous solution containing a nonionic surface active agent to the contact part followed by cooling the contact part, and a control step of measuring a concentration of the nonionic surface active agent in the cooling liquid, and comparing a reference concentration to a measured value, and managing a concentration of the nonionic surface active agent so as to be brought to a reference concentration in the case of that the reference concentration and the measured value are different.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
