PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic brake device and an elevator device capable of certainly gripping a state of a brake whether the brake is normally released or not.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic brake device 1 is equipped with a fixed iron core 4, a moving iron core 5, a detector 31, an auxiliary detector 34 and a determining portion 21. The detector 31 and the auxiliary detector 34 respectively detecting a gap between the moving iron core 5 and the fixed iron core 4 are disposed so as to positioned on a generally diagonal line, in a plane view of the fixed iron core 4 from a side contacting with the moving iron core 5. The detector 31 is disposed on a corner portion B side of the fixed iron core 4.
