Receiving sheets for silver halide diffusion transfer process comprises a base (e.g. sized paper) coated on one or both sides with a receiving layer comprising an adhesive, a silver precipitating agent, and a pigment comprising at least 5% by weight of Ca CO 3 based on the weight of the receiving layer. Specified adhesives are starch and derivatives; starch-latex mixtures, starchpolyvinyl alcohol mixtures. Specified pigments are, in addition to Ca CO 3 , clays, TiO 2 , ZnO, Al 2 O 3 and satin white. In typical examples the receiving layer comprises, (1) clay, Ca CO 3 , TiO 2 , enzyme-converted starch, butadienestyrene latex, calcium stearate, sodium hexametaphosphate, dicyandiamide, Cu SO 4, and Na S; (2) polyvinyl alcohol, ethoxylated starch, Ca CO 3 optical brightener, Na CO 3 , Ag NO 3 and Na 2 S. |
