Allergen detection by inhibition assays - using serial dilutions of antibody=contg serum

An improved method for detection of allergens effected by performing a series of inhibition assays in which serum contg. anti-allergen antibodies is added to an allergen contg. extract is claimed. The improvement comprises keeping the allergen concn. constant throughout the series while reducing the antibody concn. in the serum. USE/ADVANTAGE - The method may be applied to foodstuffs, animal feeds, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The method is capable of detecting lower allergen concns. than prior art methods (cf. DD 254054).
