A panel such as a pane 11 secured in an L- section frame 7 in the window aperture of a car body 18 by a ring of adhesive 21 or sealant with a caulking dam 22 containing the edge of the sealant and the panel being held from stumping downward by spacer blocks along the bottom edge (not shown) has the space between its periphery and the frame covered by a strip moulding or reveal 14 which is mounted by means of studs 25 with resilient metal (stainless steel) shanks integral with the frame or e.g. welded or screwed there into so as to extend between the edge of the panel 11 and the confronting frame surface 17 and each stud terminates in a head 29 with a domed upper surface forming an abutment 30 to enable the reveal to slide thereover and snap engage its inturned outer flange 37 under the abutment 30. The other edge of the reveal presses on the panel and is provided with antisqueak spacers (30). A flange 41 on the stud shanks is engaged by the flange 37 to prevent deformation of the reveal strip by being forced too far into the gap between frame and stud. |
