A heated reservoir 10 of hot wax or other melted material is closed by a hollow head 11 through which extends a heated injection nozzle assembly 24 reciprocatable transversely of the head by an hydraulic motor 61 such that when the nozzle tip 28 is brought against the injection inlet of a die 17 the tip is retracted relative the assembly to allow moulding material to be forced from the reservoir into the die via passages 27, 26, 60, 26a, 59 and 58. The material is pressurized by a piston 29 forced upwardly by pressure fluid supplied by a line 33, and is agitated by a plate 36 reciprocated between the piston and the hollow head by an hydraulic motor 37. The flow of pressure fluid to the latter to effect its reversal is controlled by a switch, not shown, carried on a bracket 44 secured to a rod 39, operated in its uppermost position by a fixed stop and in its lowermost position by a rod 46 upstanding from a piston cap 30. The agitator plate 36 has spaced peripheral passageways 36a which receive upstanding projections 30a on the cap; a recess 30b in the cap receives central projecting parts of the agitator plate. The dies are clamped between a fixed lower platen (20), Fig. 1, (not shown), on a table, and an upper platen (22) reciprocable by an hydraulic motor (23); the reservoir and nozzle assembly is vertically adjustable on guide rods 70 relative the dies by hydraulic motors (68). |
