Novel compounds of the general formula <FORM:1123527/C2/1> (wherein X represents O or S, R1 represents H, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy, A represents a straight or branched C2- 6 alkylene chain, R2 and R3/t each represent H, alkyl or aralkyl or they represent two alkyl groups linked to form a ring, either directly or via an O or S atom or a N atom optionally carrying an alkyl or free or esterified hydroxyalkyl substituent) are prepared from the corresponding 6,11 - dihydrodibenzo - [b,e] - oxepin- or -thiepin-11-ones by (a) reacting them with (aminoalkoxy)-amines H2N-O-A-NR2R3 or acid addition salts thereof, or (b) converting them with hydroxylamine into their oximes, converting these into their alkali metal salts, and reacting the latter with reactive esters of hydroxyalkylamines HO-A-NR2R3. The products may be obtained in the form of, or converted into, pharmacologically acceptable salts with inorganic or organic acids. Pharmaceutical compositions, for oral or parenteral administration in the treatment of psychoses, comprise compounds of the general formula above, or their pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts, in admixture with pharmaceutically acceptable carrier substances. |
