[Also in Division C3] The invention comprises vat dyestuffs of the general formula wherein A and B are vattable residues, e.g. anthraquinone or anthrone, X is a triazine or pyrimidine radical and Y is a 2-benzthiazole, benzoxazole or benzimidazole bound to a carbon atom in X via -NH-, -S- or -O-. They are prepared by condensing in any sequence 2 vattable compounds having a replaceable substituent and one 2-amino, 2- hydroxy or 2-mercapto-benzthiazole, benzoxazole or benzimidazole compound with an amino- or halogeno-pyrimidine or triazine, preferably in an inert solvent above 100‹ C. in presence of an acid-binding agent. The examples describe dyestuffs where X is triazine and A and B may be substituted by chlorine and benzoylamino groups. The dyes colour cellulosic, synthetic polyamides, polyurethanes, polyesters, natural and synthetic resins, polyolefines, P.V.C., polystyrene, polyacrylonitrile, rubber, casein and silicones and silicone resins, crayons, cosmetics and laminated sheets. |
