The device for reading documents such as books by using one stepping motor to move an image sensor in the longitudinal direction, and realize receive, transmit and copy functions in the facsimile unit comprises: a reading unit (R) to read documents on a reading glass (28) under which an image sensor (21) is moving along the longitudinal line by the sensor driving unit (38); a recording unit (W) to move a roll paper (24) between a TPH (26) and a TPH roller (25) and record; a dynamic power relay unit (37) to transfer power from a stepping motor (1) to the recording unit (W) or a reading unit (R).
