<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optimal sound field according to the "position" and the "direction" of a listener in a living room. <P>SOLUTION: By means of video cameras 14-1 to 14-8 provided in the living room, a listener image is imaged, from which a CPU 2 obtains the position and the direction of the listener. When a signal source 18 outputs audio signals of a 5.1 surround system, the above signals except for a subwoofer are supplied to a mixer 20, in which signals of "16 systems", SA0-SA7, SB0-SB7 are generated so as to produce sound from "16" speakers.
