<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optical recording, an optical recorder and an optical recording medium with which high-speed and high-density optical recording which is reliable and free from erroneous writing is realized. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of recording a mark of a prescribed length on the optical recording medium which has information about an optical recording liner velocity and where recording of ≤0.7 μm minimum recording mark length is possible using a pulse string having recording power Pw and bottom power Pb at least, the method prepares a plurality of optical recording pulse strings of a different number of pulses in the optical recorder in advance and selects a desired pulse string from among them.
