The coated electrode is a sheath of low-carbon steel containing a powder of the following composition: 45-55 degrees wt. % iron powder, 10-15 wt. % marble, 8-14 wt. % fluorspar, 4-8 wt. % feldspar, 8-16 wt. % ferrotitanium, 4-14 wt. % ferromanganese, 2-4 wt. % ferromolybdenum and 1-3 wt. % ferroniobium. - The weld has an ultimate tensile strength of 95 kgf/mm2 and a 260-280 Brinell hardness, with a columnar structure of very fine sorbite with a fringe of ferrite.
