Adjustment of the height of the hay pick-up spring teeth is achieved by a vertical clamp rod (21) in a clamp tube (19). The tube passes through the centre of the gear wheel drive (17) which is mounted in ball bearings. The gear wheel is fixed to the spinner plate of the hay pick-up disc (43), but the side facings of the housing for the driving shaft and for the bush (34) around the clamp tube are components of thrust bearings. Clamp adjustment is accomplished by a hand lever (25), position being indicated by a depth gauge (26). The gear drive is transmitted to the pinion (41) by a splined shaft. |
