[Also in Division H1] In a process of chargeless electro-photography, the photo-conductive material used in the process has dispersed therein a control agent which displaces the dark surface potential of the material in a direction opposite to the direction of alteration of the surface electric potential upon irradiation. By "chargeless electro-photography" is meant a process in which the photo-sensitive member is exposed to an image without preliminary charging of the plate. A mixture of ZnO, an alkyd resin and a charge controlling agent is coated on to a paper support to give an electro-photographic plate. The charge controlling agent may be cobalt, zinc, or lead naphthenate, copper deate, benzidine, cetyl alcohol, tributyl phosphate, lecithin, sodium dioctysulphosuccinate, or mixtures thereof. Ethers, esters, amines, amides, qusternary ammonium salts and aliphatic or aromatic sulphonates may also be used as agents. Optional additives may be oleic, palmitic or stearic acid. |
