PURPOSE:To shorten FCOT(First Copy Out Time) by varying the time before image pick up is started after a copying button is pushed according to the position of a tray disposed inside a paper feeding cassette. CONSTITUTION:A timer value to be counted by a timer 61 according to the position of the tray inside the paper feeding cassette is stored in a timer table 63. An operation part 70 is connected to a device main body 50 through a signal line. Then, the paper size, the number of sheets of paper to be copied, etc., are displayed in a display part 4 of the operation part 70. The copying button 71 is used for starting the copying and a tray selection button 72 is used for selecting the position of the tray inside the paper feeding cassette. This operation of selecting the tray also specifies the size of transfer paper. With such a constitution, the time before the image pick up is started after the copying button 71 is pushed is varied according to the position of the tray. Therefore, the paper feeding timing from a tray where the distance to a resist roller 25 is shorter is made shorter and the FCOT is shortened by that amount. |
