1,137,898. Ground anchors; anchoring sheet piling. ATLAS COPCO A.B. 15 June, 1967 [7 July, 1966], No. 27587/67. Headings E1B and E1H. In a method of making a ground anchor for sheet piling 2 a bundle of flexible steel wires 18 is drawn into the ground by an annular draw member 23, non-rotatably mounted on a tubular drill string 11 behind a drill bit 13 and then grout is pumped down the tube 11 and through flushing passages in the bit and the draw member to fill the space around the bit, the draw member and the wires, as the drill string is withdrawn. The wires are secured to the sheet piling by anchor heads 54, 55. The drill string is driven by a separate rotation motor of a hammer drill 9 through a shank adaptor 10, and the wires are fed in through a hopper 42 from drums 37 driven by compressed air motors 39. Flushing water and grouting are supplied by pump 50 through flexible hose 51 to a flushing head 52. |
