<p>PURPOSE:To back up a relay line by utilizing a public packet exchange network with respect to the backup system when an inter-node relay line is faulty in a private packet exchange network. CONSTITUTION:When a call between nodes is set up in a private packet exchange network and an opportunity of bypassing takes place in a relay line 3, a packet exchange 1 being a caller terminal equipment accommodation node converts a called terminal equipment number specific to the private packet exchange network in a CR packet from the caller terminal equipment into an exchange network subscriber number of a public packet of a packet exchange 2 being a called terminal equipment accommodation node and sends the converted packet to a public packet exchange network 7. The communication with the called terminal equipment is continued by using the public packet exchange network 7 for the relay line so as to set up the call between the nodes in this way.</p> |
