Blow pipe of high purity alumina or magnesia refractory materials of non-max. density has one or more blow openings, each of which has at the inside two concentric tubes so that two gases can be blown simultaneously without mixing, e.g. a gas such as pure oxygen or oxygen enriched air, and a suitable cooling agent, such as water vapour or carbon dioxide surrounding the oxygen jet.
