The secondary winding 18 of an ignition coil is separated from the primary 22 by a layer of corrugated insulating material (paper) 19 which provides a plurality of cooling channels extending parallel to the coil axis. The primary and secondary are formed of layers of varnish coated wire with paper layers between the winding layers. The ends of the secondary are connected to conductive braids. |
