<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which a recording condition close to the optimum can be acquired even when a medium is unknown to a drive and, especially in high speed recording where test recording is difficult, a suitable recording condition can be acquired. <P>SOLUTION: By performing the test recording at the speed up to 6X in which the test recording can be performed, increasing rate in power to the recording speed is obtained, by using this rate, the power condition in 8X or more difficult for the test recording is derived. In this stage, when the derived power exceeds the upper limit for the power of a laser oscillator, the power in the recording speed is reduced to the upper limit or less for the power of the laser oscillator, and required amount of energy is secured by increasing duty. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
