PURPOSE: To provide a laser welding apparatus capable of forming weld zones of fuel rods or the like under industrial conditions. CONSTITUTION: This welding apparatus has an enclosure provided with a window, a laser source 7 and means for introducing a laser beam emitted from the laser source through the window to a welding region, which means are of a type having optical parts, including at least one focusing lens 22 and at least one reflecting mirror 16. The reflecting mirror is partially transparent with respect to the laser beam, and the optical parts are rigidly mounted at a housing having an inlet arm 17 for the laser beam, an outlet arm 21 rigidly fixed to the enclosure at the circumference of the window of the enclosure and an arm 27 which is arranged on a side opposite side to the inlet arm and is provided with a detector of a light quantity. |
