1312453 Valves LOUIS NEWMARK Ltd 5 Aug 1970 [5 Aug 1969] 39089/69 Heading G3P An hydraulic control valve adaptable for various uses comprises a body 10, Figs.3 and 4, formed with parallel channels 11 and 12, and valve chambers 21, 43 and 56. The upper end of chamber 21, Fig.3, is connected by passages 20, 15 to the channel 11 and to a first surface port closed by a removable plug 18. A reversible sleeve for directing flow is disposed in passage 15. Passages 35 and 39 connect a medial point of chamber 21 with the channel 12 and with a second surface port closed by a removable plug 40. A further reversible sleeve 37 is provided. The lower end of chamber 21 is connected by a passage 42, Fig. 4, with the second chamber 43 which is also connected to a third surface port provided with a removable closure plug. The control valve is adapted for its various uses by reversing the sleeves 16 and 37, as appropriate, or removing the sleeve 37 altogether, and connecting the surface ports to drain or to fluid lines as required. The valve member 50 in chamber 43 is always present and can be employed singly or in conjunction with one or both valve members in the remaining chambers. The valve member 60 in chamber 56 can be removed altogether and replaced by a sealing member for preventing flow between channel 12 and 11. The valve member 26, Fig.3, in chamber 21, may be given a modified shape, Figs. 10A and 10B (not shown), which enables it to be reversed to control the fluid flow in a different way. The various adaptions of the control valve are represented schematically in Figs. 5-9 (not shown) and these are respectively for (a) a pressure relief valve Fig. 5 (b) an external pilot operated check valve (Fig. 6) (c) an internal pilot operated valve (Fig. 7) (d) a sequence valve with external pilot operation (Fig. 8) and (e) a pressure reducing valve (Fig. 9). |
