1,144,958. Oxymethylene polymer-epichlorhydrin condensation polymer filaments. MONTECATINI EDISON S.p.A. 3 May, 1967 [4 May, 1966], No. 20421/67. Heading B5B. [Also in Division C3] Textile fibres are obtained by bringing the components of the following polymer composition into intimate contact and extrusion thereafter, the composition comprising (1) an oxymethylene polymer and (2) 1 to 25% of a condensation polymer of epichlorohydrin with one or more mono- or diamines or imines. The extrusion process may be carried out under pure nitrogen, and the yarn thus formed stretched and dimensionally stabilized. The fibres may be rendered water-insoluble by treatment with a mono- or di-epoxide, e.g. ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether, a mono- or diisocyanate, a mono- or dialdehyde, a halogen, or divinyl benzene, and may be dyed. |
