1289564 Garment racks combined with stools F F PUJOL 2 Sept 1970 [4 July 1970] 42000/70 Headings A4H and A4U [Also in Division E2] A garment rack, retractable into a stool 1 having a hinged lid 2, comprises telescoping leg sections 4, the outermost section being secured to inner surfaces of the base and of a side wall of the box and oppositely directed support arms 8 and parts 15 of a coat-supporting yoke hinged to the innermost section. The arms 8 are maintained in supporting position by hinged struts 9 and the parts 15 are pivoted in a slot 30 in an arm 12 which is swingable from a pendent position to a supporting position overlying the top of the innermost section, and are maintained in supporting position by engagement in recesses 14. The sections 4 are releasably maintained in extended position by the engagement of spring-urged push buttons 20, each enclosed in an apertured container 17 at the lower end of an inner section, in registering apertures in an adjacent section and each of which has a rounded lower edge 26 and can rock on a horizontal axis for collapse of the leg by hand pressure at the top of the leg.
