[Also in Division F2] In a motor vehicle suspension including between the vehicle frame 1 and rear axle 2 a main leaf spring 9 and a comparatively stiff auxiliary leaf spring 10 arranged to act in parallel therewith, progressive rate rubber or coil springs 16 are arranged in series with the auxiliary spring 10. Bump stops 17 are disposed within the coil springs. The invention may be applied to a tandem axle suspension having the leaf springs attached at their ends to the axles and at their centres to the frame. |
