1,225,808. Multiplex detector. ALLENBRADLEY CO. 8 July, 1968 [28 Sept., 1967], No. 32430/68. Heading H4R. A detector for sensing orthogonal sine and cosine functions of the form Πsin 2#nft and Πcos 2#nft where n is an integer, in a pulsed input signal comprises, Fig. 1, a pair of integrating circuits 11, and 22, each comprising an operational amplifier, 4 or 13, with an associated integration capacitor, 9 or 14. The integrating circuits are connected in a loop, with the output of each connected to the input of the other, the incoming signal is applied to the input of one integrator, and the integrator outputs, 8 and 20, provide signals indicating the presence of absence of the respective sine and cosine functions. The integrator time constants R1C1 and R2C2 are related to the frequency of the sine or cosine functions in the incoming signal to make the detector respond only to the required function, and not orthogonal functions, and the integrator capacitors are discharged at the end of each pulse period by making f.e.t's 10 and 15 conduct after the integrator output has been evaluated. In alternative forms of detector the input signal is applied to the second integrator (22) instead of the first (11), Fig. 3 (not shown) or the second integrator (24) may be modified by providing a second integrating capacitor from the output to the inverting input of the operational amplifier (26), Fig. 2 (not shown). In use a number of the circuits each tuned to a respective one of the frequencies nf, where n is an integer, would be provided in parallel on a common transmission line to detect the respective pulsed signal. |
