In a machine for cold bending tubes 12 comprising a former 11 rotatable about an axis 15 and against which the tube is clamped, the unbent portion of the tube is supported by a longitudinally movable slide 14 mounted on vertically adjustable guide 23. The tube, which may be of copper, is mounted on a mandrel and clamped to the former by means 13. Guide 23 is pivotally adjustable in a vertical recess 21 and is locked in its adjusted portion by screws 28. Vertical adjustment of the guide is effected by a vertical screw 24, Fig. 2 (not shown). The guide may itself be in two parts to permit pivotal adjustment of the slide 14 about the axis of the-tube 12. During bending, the tube is fed to the left by clamping jaws 17, 18 in a slide 16 actuated by an hydraulic piston. |
