Protheses, esp. dentures are thermally polymerised from plastically workable synthetic resins by contacting the moulding which is placed in a pressure sealed, pressure resistant, heatable vessel, with a liquid at a temp. 40-70 degrees C below the polymerisation temp., heating the liquid to the polymerisation temp., maintaining at polymerisation temp. until polymerisation is effected, and slowly cooling the liquid. Avoids the formation of stresses in the moulded dentures, without considerably lengthening the heating and polymerising period. |
