Phosphors having an approx. empirical formula: M'(2-x)M" xO2Ch (in which x is 0.0002-0.2) according to parent patent are improved in that M' is Y, M" is Eu and Ch is S, and the phosphor contains =0.005% (pref. 0.001-0.003%) of Tb or Pr, whereby the emission is increased by 10-30%. These red phosphors can be used in colour TV tubes. |
