1304285 Magnetic storage apparatus RCA CORPORATION 15 May 1970 [16 May 1969] 23669/70 Heading H3B In a magnetic core memory plane the magnetic ring cores are edge embedded in a resilient coating of cured resin on a sheet. The ring cores are first primed by subjection to silane vapour at an elevated temperature, Fig. 1 (not shown), and then loaded in a vacuum positioning jig with their edges exposed. A flexible sheet 26 coated with an uncured silicone rubber resin 28 is then pressed on to the exposed edges of the cores so that they become embedded in the resin 28 by an amount less than the radial distance between the inner and outer surfaces of the cores but more than a quarter of the radial distance, the coating 28 having a thickness greater than the depth to which the cores are embedded. The sheet 26 and adhered cores are then removed from the jig and the resin 28 cured. The cores may then be threaded and the sheet 26 may be adhered by adhesive 34 to a rigid support plate 30 provided with terminals 32 to which the 40 are connected. |
