<p>Ampoule, for pharmaceutical, medical or veterinary purposes, is of the type made from blown glass. Such ampoules show a disadvantage when it is necessary to pack products consisting of two components which have to be mixed together at the time of use. If packed separately there is a risk that the need for adding the second component may be overlooked. The new ampoule as moulded, has a recess in its cylindrical portion intended to receive a small package of the material that has to be added to that contained in the ampoule itself. The small package consists of two plastic tubes; each is closed at one end and one slides into the other. The package is held in position in the recess by an elastic band or a strip of self-adhesive tape. As the two components are associated together on the ampoule the risk of one being used without the other is obviated.</p> |
