<p>A device for sampling sugar cane employs a sampler of cylindrical section with a serrated edge at its mouth. The cylinder is rotated about its axis by a motor. A sample ejection piston is mounted in the sampler and connected to an advance carriage. A command signal causes the advance carriage to move forward, filling the sampler, and then to withdraw. A device then immobilises the sampler with respect to a chassis. The advance carriage then moves forward again moving the ejection piston with respect to the sampler, thus causing the sample to be ejected.</p> |
