PURPOSE:To improve much more corrosion resistance of a rare earth-transition metal permanent magnet without generating deterioration of its magnetic characteristics. CONSTITUTION:In a permanent magnet containing RE: 10 to 25 atomic % (where RE is one, two, or more than two selected from among Y, Sc and lanthanoids.) and B: 2 to 20 atomic % with the remnant, which substantially consists of a composition of Fe, Co and Ni, the mean grain diameter of crystal grains of the magnet is set in 0.1 to 50mum and at the same time, a crystal grain boundary phase is set in the phase of a rhombic crystal RE (Ni1-x-yCoxFey compound layer (where 0<=x<=0.5 and 0<=y<=0.4) having a thickness of 10mum or thinner. |
