PURPOSE:To detect density at which paper jamming easily occurs and to evade the paper jamming by comparing the detected value of image density at the end of an original light with a previously stored value and controlling the lighting of an interimage destaticizing lamp according to the compared result. CONSTITUTION:When a start button is depressed, whether an entire surface copying function is selected is judged, and the image density at the end of the original light on a platen glass 5 is detected by a light quantity sensor 14 and converted into voltage. Next, the detected voltage by the sensor 14 is compared with the previously set stored value. When the detected voltage is smaller, the interimage destaticizing lamp 17 is lighted for a fixed time by judging that the density at the leading edge of the original is equal to or above the density at which the paper jamming easily occurs, and a latent image at the leading edge part of the original is erased on a photosensitive body 7. When the detected voltage is larger than the stored value, the lamp 17 is not lighted by judging that the density at the leading edge of the original is equal to or under the density at which the paper jamming easily occurs. |
