1,207,423. Apparatus for the condensation of vapours. PAN AMERICAN PETROLEUM CORP. 7 March, 1968 [7 July, 1967], No. 11289/68. Heading B1B. [Also in Division C1] Vapours are condensed in a unitary apparatus comprising an elongated metal vessel containing, in serially spaced relationship, a tubular heat exchange section 26, a condensing section 28 and a liquid-vapour separation chamber 52, a line 36 connecting the separation chamber with the shell side of the exchange section, and a conduit 54 for conducting vapour-containing gases to the tube side of this section. Condensation section 28 may be filled with water to level 81, and steam removed at 82. The vapour-liquid separation means 86 may be stainless steel wool. The specification describes the removal of sulphur vapour from a gas stream, and a plant using this apparatus. |
