The circular sealing ring is used for placing on a cylindrical shaft of a valve closing element. The shaft has a radial flange with flat sealing face for a valve seat. The shaft passes through the valve seat whose inside dia. is smaller than the outside dia. of the sealing ring. The sealing ring is used in conjunction with valve seats in narrow spaces which are not readily accessible. The sealing ring (8) has on its face opposite to that which comes into contact with the sealing surface, a circular lip (10) which is in contact with the cylindrical shaft section (1) for sealing purposes. The valve ring (4) is a loose element held on the shaft.
