Steel strip-stamping knives are placed on the workpiece covered with a pressure plate, which after automatically stamping out the articles is raised up and returned to the starting position and placed on the knives for the next cycle of operation. After raising the pressure plate the stamping knives are fixed electromagnetically and lifted from the material into a predetermined pattern, returned to the starting position and placed on the material for the next operating cycle, aligned, if necessary, and finally covered by the pressure plate. The process is used particularly for stamping out articles from fabrics, leather, cardboard, etc. |
