PURPOSE:To effect large increase in tapped iron every tapping by improving the resistance to loss into molten iron and stag and maintain the tapping time sufficiently even when the tapping hole is enlarged in its diameter. CONSTITUTION:In the mud for tapping hole of blast furnace comprising pagodite, kyanite, alumina, coke, silicon carbide, silicon nitride and clay and tar as a binder, that containing 5 to 15wt.% of kyanite, less than 5wt.% of clay, 5 to 15wt.% of fine particle pagodite of less than 45mum sizes and 3 to 10wt.% of large particle pagodite over 45mum sizes is used. |
