Powdery mixt. of hard materials for use as thermally applied corrosion and wear protective coatings esp. for metal workpieces contains at least one high melting nitride of Main Gp. III-VI (esp. IV or VI) elements as basic component, pref. Ti nitride, and 0.1-50 (0.5-30, esp. 2-20) % of at least one oxide, boride, carbide or silicide of Main Gp. III-VI (esp. IV or VI) elements as additive, pref. Ti oxide, -carbide or -carbonitride. Coatings may be fused after application. Use of additional adhesive layers is advantageous, e.g. with exothermal powders such as Ni-Ti or Ni-Al or with Mo. |
