<p>1285310 Pipe-line pigs SUZUEI CO Ltd 23 July 1971 [25 July 1970] 34589/71 Heading F2N A pipe-line pig for separating two fluids in a pipe-line comprises back-to-back part-spherical cups 1A, 1B formed of elastomeric material, an annular groove, 6 permitting relative flexing between the cups, and the open ends of the cups, when the pig is in use, permitting fluids within the pipe to enter the respective cups and expand the latter into snug sliding and sealing engagement with the pipe wall. The pig may be formed from two separate cups, Fig. 5 (not shown), secured back-to-back by a nut and bolt. One or both cups may contain a loosely fitted insert (Fig. 5), which allows fluid between itself and the cup wall.</p> |
