<p>Each operator at the side of the inspection and sorting conveyor belt, esp. for washed, peeled potatoes used in the potato crips industry, has a combined cutting out and removal tool for the eyes in the potatoes based on a pistol grip handle on the main vacuum pipe connected via a flexible line to a vacuum manifold. A trigger, with spring loading, in the grip opens a shutter in the vacuum pipe and a detachable tubular cutter is screwed into the suction end of the pipe. This is plugged into the potato around the eye and the trigger operated to suck out the eye.</p> |
