[Also in Division G3] In an oscillating motor wherein at least one electrically maintained oscillating member, such as a tuning fork, carrying a permanent magnet 15 drives a wheel, e.g. an escape wheel connected to a timing train, the wheel has radial outer spokes 11 and a series of inner apertures 13 defining a wavy magnetic track 14 for co-operation with the magnet 15, the spacing w between the apertures being equal to the width of the spokes, and the ratio between (i) the mean of the aperture width b and the spoke spacing a and (ii) the spacing w, being at least 2. It is stated that increasing values of the above ratio up to 4 produce a linear increase in torque. |
